Flag
Flag of the Republic of Macedonia represents a sixteen-point golden sun on red background.
It was adopted by the Macedonian parliament in August 1992.

Greece argues that the flag bears
the emblem of the ancient Macedonian
dynasty found a few years ago in the royal
tombs in Vergina, Greece and dating back to the 4th century BC.
That country demands a change in the flag of the Republic
of Macedonia (among other things) before their economic embargo against the
young republic is lifted.

Some variations of the flag, which have seeds in the middle of the
sixteen-point sun (hence, making it match closer the Sun from Vergina)
are available
here and
here. Note, however, that these are not
images of the official flag of the
Republic of Macedonia.
